In alkimia we have been manufacturing tattoo material since 1984, almost 4 decades since the first needles we welded, we have developed a black pigment for *artistic use* that leaves no evidence to any mark you have ever tried.
Our formula is vegan, its ideal viscosity is thanks to the amount of pigment, we don't like to adulterate our ink with excess glycerin and other unnecessary chemicals.
That is why Kalamar Ink has up to 8 times more pigment than any other brand on the market today.
What does this mean? That your pieces will finally be black and not gray or bluish over time. To achieve such a high pigment load but not to make it expand or be difficult to apply is thanks to a patented micronizing system exclusive to ALKIMIA. If you feel that your talent deserves more, that your materials may be depleting your capabilities and you are looking for an alternative at your level?
Keep reading the FAQs below ! :)
Kalamar Ink is the only ink for *artistic use* that not only has not been tested on animals as a final product, but none of its compounds have been tested separately.
We are totally against animal cruelty and the use of animals for cosmetic or research testing.
Kalamar Ink has only been tested on one or two humans from ALKIMIA's management during its development =)
As you know, guaranteeing a safe product is a priority in our industry.
Kalamar Ink is MORE STERILE... how?
The inks on the market are produced in factories, where normally not only tattoo inks are manufactured, but also other cosmetics or even medicines; and then they are sterilized.
In alkimia we always go one step further, we have our own laboratory where exclusively tattoo inks are manufactured, in addition, the production room is a 100% sterile environment! This added to a subsequent sterilization, makes it "more sterile" (SAFER) than any other in the market.
While other brands are somewhat opaque with the pigment base they use, we can boast of using one of the most reputable pigments in the industry, Carbon Black 77266, which stands out for its resistance to temperature and light, as well as its strength and depth of coloration.
But... there are other inks that use this pigment? what makes Kalamar Ink better?
At alkimia, we make sure to obtain only the base of this pigment with 100% purity, to avoid once again any element that could alter our incredible formula.
In addition, what is important for a good longevity of the shade is the micronization, and at alkimia we have created and patented our own molecular way of doing it... giving better results during 5 years of testing !
You have seen above where you can buy the pigments we offer various formats and types.
Kalamar Ink has different formulations under sub-names so you can find the one that best suits your style and way of working.
BLACK: a standard black, as you may have tried from other brands but... truly black. Versatile for any style and technique.
EASY BLACK: a formulation derived from "Black" with a softer pigment load, focused for works with a lot of detail or fine lines where it is better to sacrifice intensity for delicacy.
VANTA BLACK: our filler formula par excellence, it has a high pigment load and results in a bright and strong shade.
ABISMO BLACK: our most aggressive black. It has almost 25% more pigment than Vanta Black... it gives a matte and deep tone like no other... we recommend this only for experienced artists and use in Blackouts or very large and well determined fillers.
THE KRAKEN: 500ml format "Black".
APOTHEOSIS: 1 LITER format of "Vanta Black".
Now that everything is explained... very nice, very cool but... how do they look?
In addition to hundreds of delighted Kalamar Ink customers, we have a select Pro Team that exemplifies the high capabilities of our pigments.
You can see some works above, funny part is that there are fresh and healed works... but you won't be able to tell the difference !! =)
You can check out @kalamar.ink's Instagram to see works in progress and curated pieces... the results speak for themselves and the general feedback is "never tried a black so black".
